Checking In

Well I think I left off with going to W@almart which we did yesterday. We got some supplies and got the kids Mickey D's for lunch - so they were pleased! The weather has not been good it's been very cold and rainy all week so that's been hard for them. There is however a bowling alley right in our hotel - The Dolton Hotel if I hadn't mentioned it so Brian has been taking Paxton and Brian bowling with his mom most afternoons. This morning we visited the Hunan Embroidery Factory. The province in China that both Paxton and Gracyn are from is known for their extraordinary embroidery. So we went to see that this morning and helped the economy a bit. Sorry not pictures right now, we still have to upload them. I'll try and update pictures tonight.

It's Official

Well all the provincial paperwork is done, now we just wait for Gracyn's passport and on Saturday we fly to Guangzhou. She's doing really well and is a chunk a munk! I think she outweighs my nephew! The nine month clothes I bought are barely fitting but we are managing I guess I'll have to go shopping ! We are going to a W@lmart tomorrow. She's not loving the new formula - we couldn't get the formula she had been on - but she's eating a good amount of solids so we're doing well... More tomorrow and hopefully some more pics!

She does have a cold and we were told she was on IV antibiotics last week, poor baby, here are a few photos....more tomorrow...

Getting Gracyn

Tomorrow is Gotcha Day. It's 8pm on Sunday Feb. 22nd so in less than 20 hours we should have our little girl in our arms. We are supposed to receive the babies at 3pm tomorrow! Until then.......

Ok where was I - Right we got to open Hong Kong Disney - how cool is that!
After enjoying the park for the day, we checked into our new hotel in Hong Kong where the rest of our group is also staying. They all took a tour on Saturday - sorry no pictures of that because we went back to Disney for more of the Mouse. This morning we flew to Changsha. There are 11 families in our group. I'd love to say the kids are still doing as amazingly well as they did on the 16 hour airplane ride, but I'd be lying. We're all still struggling with the time change and hoping for a better day tomorrow! More on that in a minute.

Finally an Update

Well we arrived Thursday evening around 8pm. The kids were amazingly well behaved on the plane - I was really surprised that they did so well on a 16 hour flight! We then headed to the Hong Kong Disney Hollywood Hotel. It was very nice to visit the mouse! On Friday we got to the park a little before opening and were very surprised to be picked to be the family that opened the Park! We even got a certificate for our "Magical Moment" So with a bunch of cast members we shouted "3,2,1 Hong Kong Disney is now open". It was cool. Wait here a minute I'll try to add a photo!

T-Minus 18 Hours

So we leave for Hong Kong tomorrow. Say a prayer and we'll see you all when we return from our 2nd trip of a lifetime!!!!
I'll do my best to update from China if not see you when we return from the other side of the world!

And away we go!!!!!!!!!

We leave February 18th and return home on March 6th!!!!!!!!!
We'll be in Hong Kong until the 22nd when we fly to Changsha, Hunan. That's the province that Gracyn is from. I'm assuming Gotcha Day will be the 23rd but that's not confirmed yet - I'll let you know. Our consulate appointment is March 3rd and our oath ceremony is March 4th!!!!!! Here we come baby girl!!!!!!!

TA

Well we finally got TA (travel approval) today!!!!! Yeah!!! You know what that means don't you - a whole lot of nothing - at least until we get CA (consulate appointment). It is great news, however until the CA is rec'd we still can't book our flights. It is looking like we'll be leaving sometime in the 3rd week of February. We may try and go in a day ahead of our group to help the kids adjust to the time change. We also may try and get to Hong Kong Disney!!!!!! But shhhhhh don't tell them in case we can't make that happen.

Still Waiting

Well here we are a month from referral and we are STILL waiting for travel approval and dates... I guess I'm a bad blogger maybe we should call this a sometimes updated website - LOL ... I'll be back when there is something to tell you all!

package to Gracyn and she got us these updated photos!!
We also received our Visa's today. So now we just wait for dates to travel.
We are hoping for soon but it will probably be sometime in February.
